Bed Wetting Pads

If you are tired of cleaning urine off the mattress all the time, you may consider using bed wetting pads to absorb the moisture. These pads are designed to soak up fluids and contain them, they stop the fluid from running everywhere.

Bed wetting pads are made up of several layers– the bottom layer usually contains a strong plastic that does not allow liquid to seep through. This plastic layer should be placed against the mattress, so that the urine is not allowed to seep into the mattress.

The other layer on the bed wetting pad is an absorbent layer, which should be placed face-up to absorb any wetness that may occur.

These bed wetting pads should be placed on top of the mattress, but below the sheet. If the pad is placed below, then the sheet will help to keep the pad in place in order to prevent any shifting or movement of the protective pad. Also, it is more comfortable for the person because they will be laying on the fabric sheet instead of the plastic of the pad.

The biggest advantage to using bed wetting pads is the fact that they make clean-up easy. The pads will protect the mattress, so that you don’t have to worry about scrubbing the mattress each time an accident occurs.

Some bed wetting pads are not designed for absorbency, instead they are designed as a bed wetting alarm to wake the person when the accident occurs. Bed wetting alarms can be an effective way to stop the wetting habit.
