Toddler Bed Wetting
Every child will wet the bed at some point or another, but some children do it more often. Toddler bed wetting can be a frustrating thing for a parent to deal with, but don’t worry because there are several effective treatments that can be done to stop toddler bed wetting.
Usually toddler bed wetting occurs for one of two reasons: either the child’s bladder is not yet fully developed, or they were sleeping too deep to wake up and recognize the need to go to the bathroom. Either way, it is important that you do not get angry with your child– it is an involuntary reaction that occurs, and harsh words may only cause the problem to get worse.
Another cause of child bed wetting is a drastic change in the child’s life. Major life changes such as moving, changing schools, sexual abuse, divorce, death, etc. may cause the child to revert to the bed wetting behavior. Again, this is an involuntary reaction, and you need to be patient and work with the child to help them get past their problem.
If you have unsuccessfully tried to stop toddler bed wetting, you may also consider taking your toddler to their pediatrician. In rare cases, bed wetting may be caused by in infection or disease.
